    FS: Altec 291-16k 1.5" drivers

I am letting go of a very nice pair of Altec 291-16K 1.5" compression drivers. These are about as nice as I have seen out there and have the original diaphragms. I used these for a time in a active bi-amped set up and they sound absolutely fabulous. It would be nice to keep them for another project but for financial reasons, I am letting them go.

$500 for the pair obo plus shipping lower 48 please. They will be boxed separately for safe shipping to your location.

The 1.5 to 2" adaptors shown on the drivers are not included.

    Thanks, RC

    Hmmm,,

I just tried to reply twice to you asking if these sold, and then your ***sold*** post was there.

    Couple of questions,

Was the buyer local, stateside, or out of country?

    You get your asking price?

I have 4 of these I would like to go.....

    Thanks,

    -chris

That was a fair price if they were in good shape... great drivers. They are actually 1.4" exit; the early Lansing threaded throat large format drivers were 1.5" exit, but the standard became 1.4" after the threaded portion of the driver throat was removed when the Lansing 287 (stud mount) driver replaced the 284B (threaded mount) driver. Sorry for being persnickitty.

Sorry Chris, I checked back several times and never saw any posts to this thread. I tagged them as sold but they were in reality traded to an out of state audio friend for a tube preamp. I was going to just remove the thread but I couldn't figure out how to do that.

    RC,

No biggie, I was just wondering what you got for them.

I was having a heck of a time trying to reply to anyone's posts yesterday.

Not sure what it was , but it seems ok today here @ home.

    Later,

    -chris
